Custom Domain Set Up Guide

If you want to load your portfolio website on a custom domain, follow these steps to get it up and running.

Step 1: Purchase a Package with Custom Domain Feature

To use a custom domain for your portfolio website, you need to purchase a package that includes the custom domain feature.

Step 2: Prepare Your Custom Domain

Let’s assume you’ve purchased a domain named customer.tattoo, and you want to load your portfolio website under this domain. Before proceeding, ensure you have access to your domain registrar account (e.g., Namecheap, GoDaddy).

Step 3: Access the Custom Domain Menu

Once you’ve purchased the appropriate package, you’ll find a Custom Domain option in the Domains & URLs section of your User Dashboard.

  • Navigate to User Dashboard > Domains & URLs > Custom Domain (refer to the screenshot provided).

Step 4: Add CNAME Record to Your Custom Domain

Before sending a custom domain request, you must add a CNAME record to your domain’s DNS settings. The CNAME record is essential to link your custom domain (customer.tattoo) to our platform’s business domain.

  • How to Add a CNAME Record:
    • Log in to your domain registrar's account (e.g., Namecheap, GoDaddy).
    • Locate the DNS settings or Zone Editor for your domain.
    • Add a new CNAME record that points to the business domain provided in your User Dashboard.

The CNAME record details can be found in the Custom Domains page of your User Dashboard.

Step 5: Wait for DNS Propagation

After adding the CNAME record, DNS propagation may take some time. While it can take up to 72 hours, it’s typically much faster, often just a few hours.

  • To check if the DNS propagation is complete, visit what's my DNS.

Step 6: Send Custom Domain Request

Once the DNS propagation is complete, return to the Custom Domain section in your User Dashboard and send the request to use your custom domain (customer.tattoo).

Additional Support

If you have trouble finding the CNAME record option in your domain registrar’s dashboard, don’t hesitate to contact their support team for assistance.

Admin Dashboard: Updating Texts
