If you want to load your portfolio website on a custom domain, follow these steps to get it up and running.
To use a custom domain for your portfolio website, you need to purchase a package that includes the custom domain feature.
Let’s assume you’ve purchased a domain named customer.tattoo, and you want to load your portfolio website under this domain. Before proceeding, ensure you have access to your domain registrar account (e.g., Namecheap, GoDaddy).
Once you’ve purchased the appropriate package, you’ll find a Custom Domain option in the Domains & URLs section of your User Dashboard.
Before sending a custom domain request, you must add a CNAME record to your domain’s DNS settings. The CNAME record is essential to link your custom domain (customer.tattoo) to our platform’s business domain.
The CNAME record details can be found in the Custom Domains page of your User Dashboard.
After adding the CNAME record, DNS propagation may take some time. While it can take up to 72 hours, it’s typically much faster, often just a few hours.
Once the DNS propagation is complete, return to the Custom Domain section in your User Dashboard and send the request to use your custom domain (customer.tattoo).
If you have trouble finding the CNAME record option in your domain registrar’s dashboard, don’t hesitate to contact their support team for assistance.
For Admins: You can update the instructional texts shown to users on the Custom Domains page through the Custom Domains > Request Page Texts section of the Admin Dashboard. This ensures users receive the most accurate and helpful guidance.
Following these steps will help you successfully set up your portfolio website on a custom domain, making your online presence more professional and personalized.
